10 Faith-Filled Moments You’ll Experience on a Biblical Tour of Greece

Greece is more than sun-soaked islands and iconic landmarks – it’s a land where the New Testament comes alive. On our tours to Greece, you don’t just see the beautiful sights the country has to offer – you also experience them through the lens of faith. Walking in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul, you’ll explore ancient cities, sacred sites, and places where the early church flourished. Based on the experiences of our past travelers, we’ve gathered 10 unforgettable moments you can experience on your own journey through Biblical Greece.

1. Athens:  The City of the Philosophers

Standing on Mars Hill, you can almost hear Paul speaking to the philosophers of Athens, proclaiming the “unknown God” who made the world and raised Jesus from the dead. It’s a place where faith meets reason, and the story of the early church comes alive.
“Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: ‘People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious… Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.’” (Acts 17:22–23)

2. Corinth: The Heart of Paul’s Ministry

Corinth was a busy city in Paul’s time, and he spent 18 months here teaching and preaching. Walking through the ruins, you can picture him standing at the Bema platform, sharing God’s Word and encouraging believers.
“So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.” (Acts 18:11)
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

3. Delphi:  Ancient Wisdom Meets Faith

In Anciet times, people came to Delphi to seek advice from the oracle of Apollo. Today, standing among the ruins, you’re reminded that true wisdom comes from God. It’s a peaceful place to reflect and consider how God’s Word contrasts with worldly ideas.
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.” (1 Corinthians 3:19)

4. Meteora: The Monasteries in the Sky

Perched atop towering cliffs, the monasteries of Meteora are breathtaking. These homes of prayer and devotion remind you to lift your eyes heavenward and pause to reflect on God’s creation.
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1–2)

Berea – where early Christians studied Scripture daily.

5. Berea: A Place of Study and Faith

The Bereans were known for their eagerness to learn and check Scripture for themselves. Visiting Berea encourages a love for God’s Word and reminds you of the importance of studying Scripture every day.
“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11)

Known in Paul’s time as Neapolis, Kavala was the first European port he landed at. From here, the Gospel spread across Europe. It’s a small but significant place where history and faith meet.

Ephesus – where Paul’s ministry took root.
