Overview

Join Alfred St. Baptist Church on a life-changing journey through Greece, Turkey, and Rome, walking in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul. From Philippi and Thessaloniki to Ephesus and ancient Corinth, you will experience the Bible come alive at every stop. With expert guides and Christ-centered fellowship, this fully escorted tour offers a powerful opportunity to deepen your faith while exploring the roots of the early Church.

Grace and peace to you.

It is my joy to welcome you to the Alfred Street Footsteps of Paul mission pilgrimage to Greece, Turkey, and Rome, October 10–22, 2026.

For generations, Alfred Street has been committed to Christ-centered mission, bringing the gospel to communities near and far, serving those in need, and sending disciples to learn, witness, and grow. This pilgrimage is not just a continuation of that legacy, but an invitation for us to step into it together. We are not simply traveling as individuals, but as a community learning, growing, and walking this journey side by side.

As we embark on this experience, we will trace Paul’s missionary paths recorded in Acts and reflected in his letters. From the marketplaces and synagogues of Greece, Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth. And to the great cities of Asia Minor such as Ephesus and Troas, and ultimately to Rome, we will witness the story of the early church unfold before us. Together, we will stand in the very places where the gospel was proclaimed, where faith was tested, and where communities were transformed.

This will be more than a historical journey. It will be a shared spiritual experience. As we walk where Paul walked, we will also walk with one another, encouraging, reflecting, and growing in faith together. Through every step, every site, and every moment, we will be reminded that we are part of something greater, called not just to observe the mission, but to live it out collectively.

We are both excited and humbled to take this journey as a church family. Together, we will deepen our understanding of Scripture, strengthen our fellowship, and return renewed ready to continue Alfred Street’s work of service, witness, and discipleship in unity.

May God bless our preparations, keep every traveler safe, and open our hearts to all the Spirit will teach us along the way. I look forward to experiencing this journey with you.

In Christ’s service,

Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley
Senior Pastor
Alfred Street Baptist Church

Yes!  Absolutely!  While encountering the unexpected is part of any adventure, it can range from inconvenience to major emergency.  Whether it’s an inconvenient flight delay, a last-minute cancellation due to illness, or even a serious medical emergency, it’s crucial to be prepared.  And while our cancelation policy is one of the most generous in the industry, there are many instances where tours are not refundable by the tour operator, and where Trip Protection will reimburse you.

Because of this, we require that every passenger purchase a Trip Protection plan for this tour, and Travelex offers comprehensive travel protection plans that include 24-hour Travel Assistance.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW TRAVELEX 360 GROUP PLAN AND CHOOSE COVERAGE AMOUNT

Please review the Travelex Insurance flyer let America Israel Tours know how much coverage you would like.  The cost of your coverage will be added to your final invoice for the tour.  We recommend selecting a coverage amount that fully protects the total cost of your tour (Land and Air).  Please contact America Israel Tours with any questions about Travelex travel insurance.

TEN REASONS WHY YOU NEED TRIP PROTECTION

Why the daily activity level may vary from day to day – this tour has a Moderate Activity Level:  Passengers should be able to easily walk two to three miles during the day, with 8-9 hour touring days, which may include climbing one or two flights of stairs and walking over uneven pavement, groomed trails or cobblestones. Standing up to one hour or more may be required.

Please note that this is not an Accessible Tour and because of the itinerary and logistics, on this tour we are not able to accommodate passengers with mobility issues, or those that require walkers or wheel chairs.

Can I stay in the hotel room if I don’t feel like touring on one of the scheduled touring days?

Because our itineraries involve staying in different cities on different nights of the tour in order to maximize the sightseeing time while minimizing your time driving to and from sights, you will not be able to skip a touring day to hang out at the hotel on most days of the tour because you would miss being transported on the bus to the next city that we will stay overnight.  There are exceptions where we stay at hotels/cities for multiple days, but our tours are designed to see as many sights as possible, so skipping a days’ sightseeing is not recommended, and rarely an option.

You are responsible for bringing the correct travel documents to your event. Here’s a list of some of the most important travel tips from the U.S. Department of State:

  1. Ensure Valid Travel Documents
Make sure you have a signed, valid passport and any necessary visas for your destination. Before departure, complete the emergency information page of your passport.

  2. Read Consular Information Sheets
Check the Consular Information Sheets, as well as any Public Announcements or Travel Warnings, for the countries you plan to visit. This will help you stay informed about any safety concerns or specific regulations.

  3. Familiarize Yourself with Local Laws and Customs
Understanding local laws and customs is crucial. Remember, while traveling abroad, you are subject to the local laws, not U.S. law. Be aware of cultural differences and legal expectations.

  4. Make Copies of Important Documents
Make two copies of your passport identification page. Keep one copy in a separate location from your passport and leave the other with family or friends at home. This will help in case your passport is lost or stolen.

  5. Share Your Travel Itinerary
Leave a copy of your travel itinerary with a trusted family member or friend so they can contact you or the U.S. embassy in case of an emergency.

  6. Keep Your Luggage Secure
Never leave your luggage unattended in public spaces. Additionally, avoid accepting packages from strangers, as they may be unsafe or illegal.

  7. Notify the U.S. Embassy
If you plan to stay abroad for more than two weeks, notify the U.S. embassy upon arrival or register in person. This ensures the embassy can assist you in case of an emergency.

  8. Take Precautions Against Crime
To reduce the risk of theft or robbery, avoid wearing flashy clothing or expensive jewelry, and limit the amount of cash and credit cards you carry.

  9. Exchange Money Safely
Only exchange money or purchase items like art or antiques through authorized agents to avoid scams and legal issues.

  10. Contact the U.S. Embassy in Case of Trouble
If you run into any problems, reach out to the nearest U.S. embassy for assistance.

What Currency is used ?

Greece:  Euro

Turkey:  Turkish Lira

Make sure to check the exchange rate before you go. Many businesses in Greece and Turkey accept major credit cards (Mastercard and Visa),  but for smaller vendors and kiosks you will want to have cash, specifically Euros since U.S. dollars are not accepted everywhere in Greece. You can always change money in country – your guides will can direct you to a reputable location to change money and there are ATMs located in convenient locations that will dispense local currency. Airports have notoriously high exchange rates.

Key points about getting around Greece:
  • Buses: The primary mode of transport on the mainland, with KTEL bus services covering most major routes.
  • Ferries: Essential for island hopping, with various ferry companies offering connections between islands.
  • Car rentals: Useful for exploring specific regions on the mainland or islands, but be aware of potential traffic in larger cities.

How Do I Pay at Local Stores? US Dollars?

Greece currency is the euro (€).  You should definitely exchange your U.S. dollars for Euros.  Major credit cards are widely accepted in Greece, though many establishments do not accept American Express and Discover.  Many small businesses and artists still might prefer or only accept cash payments (Euros).  The best way to get euros in Greece is via an ATM or to exchange American dollars for euros before touring.

US credit cards (Master Card and Visa) and debit cards are also accepted at most stores, so at larger establishments you can make purchases using your card. Just remember to alert your bank or credit card company before traveling so they don’t freeze your card for unusual foreign charges.  Make sure to alert your Bank and/or Credit Card company prior to departure if you plan to use your credit/debit cards while traveling

Do I Tip at Restaurants and Hotels?

In Greece, tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated, with the general practice being to round up the bill or leave a small tip of a couple of euros, especially in tourist areas, for good service; a 10-15% tip is considered generous if you want to leave more than just rounding up.

Some travelers find it helpful to prepare the tips in advance, placing them in envelopes labeled “Guide” and “Driver” in your suitcase or hotel safe. Of course, if you feel your guide or driver deserves more than the recommended amount, you’re welcome to add extra.

Absolutely Life Changing Experience! Traveling with America Greece Tours on the “Steps of Paul” journey was one of the most powerful and meaningful trips I’ve ever taken. From start to finish, everything was handled with excellence, the logistics, the accommodations, the guides, and the spiritual depth woven into each day. Walking through Athens, Corinth, Thessalonica, and Philippi, standing where Paul preached, and visiting Patmos, where John received Revelation, these weren’t just historical sites, they were faith-deepening encounters. The Greek Island cruise was the perfect balance of rest, beauty, and exploration, and our local guides in both Greece and Turkey were incredibly knowledgeable and personable.  If you’re considering a faith based journey that brings the Bible to life in a fresh, unforgettable way, America Greece Tours is the team to trust. I came back refreshed, inspired, and forever changed.  Highly recommended!

This was my first time using America Israel Tours / America Greece Tours, and it certainly won’t be my last. My trip to Greece was truly life-changing, and I am beyond impressed with the level of service I received.   I want to especially thank Regan, who went above and beyond to make sure my experience was perfect. During a very painful episode in my life, I needed to make last-minute changes, and she handled everything with such kindness, patience, and understanding. She answered all of my many questions thoroughly, always with clarity and professionalism.
Everything about the trip was organized with perfection, and I deeply appreciate the personal care and support I received. I highly recommend AIT/AGT to anyone looking for not just a travel company, but a partner who truly cares about your journey.

This was hands-down the best trip I’ve ever been able to partake in. The tours were incredible and informative. We covered so much during the journey and I’m still processing it all, weeks later! I loved the guides, the planning, and the leadership. Pastor Mike could not have been more caring, thoughtful, or enlightening and I still don’t see how he does as much as he does while pouring into every single person like he does. I will never be able to express my gratitude enough. Nikos was also an amazing tour guide and was always so positive. It felt like I made a friend through him. I also loved the knowledge and expertise from the guide on Patmos (forget his name). Could not recommend this trip enough and praying I’m able to come back next year!!!
